From the Superintendent
The Fort McMurray Catholic School District is our community’s faith-based choice for publicly funded education. Our schools offer a wide range of programming geared towards meeting the academic, physical, cultural and spiritual needs of our students, including English as a Second Language, First Nation, Métis and Inuit (FNMI) and those with special needs.
Our students come from a wide variety of denominations, faiths and ethnic backgrounds. Our faith permeates the entire school experience, encompassing all subject areas and student activities. You will witness many virtues espoused by Catholic Christian theology being practiced daily in our schools. As a result of this unique educational experience, students are able to develop a perception of life that inspires them to share their God given talents with the community and those less fortunate.
In 2011 Fort McMurray Catholic Schools celebrates 75 Years in Fort McMurray. We are excited to demonstrate our commitment to 21st. Century Learners with the opening of Holy Trinity Catholic High School and the Suncor Energy Centre for the Performing Arts and our new Science & Technology Centre at Father Patrick Mercredi Community High School.
We encourage all current and incoming residents of our city to take a look at the balanced, quality programs of the Fort McMurray Catholic Schools. We strive to offer our students a caring and safe learning environment where they can achieve their academic potential while promoting Catholic Christian values.
