I am from Chipewyan Prairie First Nation located in Janvier, I was born here in Fort McMurray and grew up in Janvier. My first school was Father Perin School in Janvier which I attended until grade 8. The school did not have later grades so I had to move away from my parents to attend and finish school in Fort McMurray where I attended St John’s School for grade 9 and finished my high school education at Father Patrick Mercredi High School.
My wife works within the FMCSD and our oldest child has graduated from Father Mercredi as well and now is at the University of Lethbridge. Our younger children also attend 3 different catholic schools and are learning values of our school system and also of the catholic religion. I am very proud of the education that our schools provide.
I currently work in the oilsands as a Manager and have a trades background. I am a believer in setting up our children to be successful in this ever changing world. The values and teachings of the Catholic Church are very instrumental in providing direction and stability during times of my life and also have grounded me in many challenging times. I feel like the base education I have received has helped me in my career and believe if we continue the good work of the FMCSD our children will have much success in whatever they chose to pursue.
