Fort McMurray Catholic Schools welcome members of other faith communities in their schools and respect their beliefs. However, this shall not reduce the freedom of Catholic Schools to openly study, practice and celebrate their own Catholic Faith.
Parents of students that are not Catholic will be required to meet the Principal of their school at the start of the school year to discuss these expectations.
In accordance with section 45 of the Alberta School Act, a Catholic Board:
– shall ensure that each of the Catholic students residing within their boundaries are provided with an education program;
– shall enrol other students if requested by their parents, if in the opinion of the Board, there are sufficient resources and facilities to accommodate the student.
