International Travel
If you choose to travel over the course of the break, please stay up to date on current restrictions:
Federal guidelines regarding unvaccinated children under 12 years of age have recently been updated (these changes begin on February 28, 2022). If a child under 12 (with fully vaccinated parent/guardians) returns to Canada, they no longer need to stay out of school for 14 days upon their return home as long as they are symptom free.
Updated Alberta Public Health Restrictions
The Government of Alberta announced a 3 step plan to reduce public health restrictions on February 8, 2022.
We are currently in step 1. The Government of Alberta has indicated we may move to step 2 as early as March 1, 2022.
Fort McMurray Catholic Contact Notification Process
As the provincial government is further lessening COVID-19 restrictions, we will be discontinuing the contact notification process (daily email about cases in schools) on February 25, 2022.
We do ask families to continue to share information with their schools. This allows schools to best support students and families as well as make data informed decisions if required.
We continue to remind families to monitor for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 using the Alberta Health Screening Questionnaire. If you or a member of your family has any of the symptoms of illness listed, please fill out the online Alberta Health Services COVID-19 self-assessment or call Health Link at 811.
