Brett Drive Access

Statement from the Director of Public Works

Brett Drive from Confederation to Laffont closed Tuesday, September 4

(Fort McMurray, AB – September 3, 2018) – Crews worked over the Labour Day weekend repairing a water main leak on Brett Drive. A temporary fix is in place and water pressure has been restored to Timberlea homes.

While we work on a permanent solution, a portion of Brett Drive will remain closed. This will affect several municipal services including bus stops, roads and underground services.

Bus stop

Stop #7056 will be inaccessible while the Brett Drive repairs are ongoing. A temporary stop will be in place north of this stop. Watch for signs.

Road closure

Brett Drive will be open to locals only. If you can use another route, please do so to keep traffic moving.

Underground Services

The excavated area on Brett Drive will be refilled. Water lines will be flushed so please run your taps until water runs clean if you see discolouration; the flushing process could also affect water pressure temporarily. To ensure the safety of students, a municipal employee will be posted on-site on Brett Drive during school hours.
