Board of Trustees Christmas Message

Christmas is a time for us to rejoice and celebrate the birth of Jesus. It is a time of reflection and renewal as we prepare for the new year. In this, the fourth week of Advent, we are reminded to be intentional in finding peace; particularly during a time of last-minute preparations, illness, exhaustion, and travel delays that many are experiencing.

Christmas can also be a difficult time for many. In particular, we mourn the recent loss of Tim Kilburn, who worked for Fort McMurray Catholic schools for almost 35 years. For Tim’s family, friends, and co-workers, and for all of you who have suffered the loss of a loved one in the past year, it can be especially hard to celebrate at this time. We pray that you find moments of joy and peace in the upcoming days, with faith in knowing that your loved ones are with you in spirit through your memories of joyful moments, and that your Fort McMurray Catholic School Division family holds you in our heart and prayers.

“I am the light of the world; anyone who follows me will not be walking in the dark, but will have the light of life.” – John 8:12

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we pray that each of you: staff, students, and families, safely celebrate with hope, faith, joy, and peace, the coming of our true saviour Jesus Christ.

We wish you a heartfelt Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

May the Lord bless you,

Cathie Langmead
