Board Strategic Plan

The Board of Trustees of the Fort McMurray Roman Catholic Separate School Division is accountable to you: the students, families, teachers, support staff and external stakeholders of Catholic education in our region. Given authority by the Education Act and its Regulations, the Board of Trustees provides overall direction and leadership to the Division. In keeping with the requirements of government legislation and the values of the electorate, the Board is accountable for the provision of appropriate educational programs and services to resident students of the Division to enable their success in welcoming, caring, respectful and safe learning environments that embed diversity and nurture a sense of belonging and positive sense of self. The Board is charged with the responsibility of providing an education system that encompasses the values of Catholic faith.

In March 2022, we engaged in a renewal of the strategic plan, through stakeholder questionnaires and a facilitated planning workshop, to review the key strategic focus and priority areas. As a result we are pleased to present an updated strategic plan spanning 2022-2025.

A thoughtful and clear strategic plan provides a solid foundation for serving our students, families, and community of the annual education plan of the school division. This scaffolding of collaborative planning creates a synergistic model of continuous planning and improvement.

Guided by Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action, the Fort McMurray Catholic Board of Education is fully committed to continuing to be a strong ally to the Indigenous communities in our region as we move toward a true place of reconciliation. The Calls to Action lead us in setting our priorities and provide the lens we look through in serving our students and families.
