Transportation Policy

 Fort McMurray Catholic Schools – Transportation Policy

Student Transportation Services are provided in accordance with Operating Policy & Procedures 381.  Transportation services are provided subject to conditions and restrictions set by under the policy.  

Elementary Schools

Yellow Bus transportation is available in all elementary schools except for St. Martha School.

  • The service is only provided within the catchment area of the school and for students that reside at least 1.0 km from their designated school;
  • Transportation is not available in some areas when only a small section of a neighbourhood barely exceed the walk distance or in locations where yellow buses cannot access in a safe manner;
  • Transportation is not available to children in the Early Entry Program (EEP);

Transportation Fees

The annual fee for Yellow Bus Transportation Services including Specialized Transportation (Handi-bus) is $ 250 per school year.  A discount of 50% is available the the 3rd child and any additional child from the same family residing at the same address.

High Schools

Transportation for students attending the two Catholic High Schools (Father Mercredi and Holy Trinity) is done using both Yellow Bus and City Transit, depending on the grade level and location.  Please consult the High School Transportation page for details
