HVAC POWER ENGINEER TECHNICIAN
FORT MCMURRAY CATHOLIC SCHOOLS is accepting applications for HVAC Power Engineer Technician. .
Under the supervision of Director of Facilities and Maintenance and working at the various schools and other facilities of the Board, you will be responsible to maintain the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and heating boilers, humidification systems, environmental climate control equipment, energy management systems, and any equipment relating to operation of HVAC or building monitoring functions. You will also repair and maintain various aspects of plumbing, such as mixing valves, drains, and pumps; solders hot and cold water lines and perform and/or cross-train on other Facilities department job functions and/or duties as directed
You possess good troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems and are capable of performing minor repairs on these systems.
Qualifications
Candidates must have:
● Minimum of two years maintenance-related HVAC experience
● 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate with a Grade 12 Diploma
● Province of Alberta Class 5 driver’s license
● Must be medically and physically able to perform all the duties associated with position on an ongoing basis.
Compensation
This permanent full time position (40 Hours per week) covered under the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 2559 Collective Agreement.
This job is classified as a Journeyman I
Start rate: $36.78 (inclusive of Fort McMurray Living Allowance -FMLA)
Job Rate: $49.56 (inclusive of FMLA and out of schedule wage adjustment)
The probation period is 90 working days during which the employee is paid at the start rate. Upon successful completion of the probation, the employee is paid at the job rate and becomes eligible for group benefits.

Program Assistant – Camp “Kids First”
For Children with Special Needs

Fort McMurray Catholic School requires a Program Assistant for Camp “Kids First” summer day camp for children with Autism and other special needs.
(week 1 – ages 5-8 yrs old – week 2 ages 9-16 yrs old – week 3 ages 10 and up (Asperger’s or related) – max of 10 campers per week
Camp “Kids First” is a summer day camp that will allow all kids with or without disabilities to take part in a summer day camp. At this camp we want the kids to be kids like any other and ENJOY their summer break. We want to provide a unique outdoor experience for our kids.
Program Assistant will report to the Program Director and assist with program development, design and implementation of the camp activities. The Program Assistant will:
- work flexible hours
- report to Program Director
- implement behavior, communication and visual supports as directed
- attend an information meeting for parents and staff
- prepare materials for daily activities
- able to lift recreation equipment and set up with little supervision
We are looking for a motivated, caring, enthusiastic, supportive and professional member to our team. Knowledge and previous experience with individuals with Autism and other special needs is required.
