Middle French Immersion

***Middle French Immersion intake has been suspended for the 2017/18 school year. The Fort McMurray Catholic Board of Education will revisit this programming option in the spring of 2018.
The program suspension for 2017/18 is due to the current uncertainty in our region. Following the wildfire of 2016 student enrolment has reduced by approximately 6%. We are still recovering as a community and with the uncertainty in regards to the economy, Middle French Immersion is not a program we can offer at this time.

An exciting program for students entering French Immersion in Grade 4

Ecole St. Paul School provides the opportunity for students to enter French Immersion in Grade 4 (Middle Entry). A popular and successful program in Ontario and Nova Scotia, Ecole St. Paul School was the first Alberta School to offer this program.

Students can now enter French Immersion in Preschool (Premier Pas Early Entry), Kindergarten, Grade 1 or in Grade 4. Students can then continue to Ecole Secondaire Sainte Trinité (Holy Trinity Catholic High School) and earn their Bilingual High School Diploma.

The Middle French Immersion Program is a District wide initiative, but it is only offered at Ecole St. Paul School. All students entering Grade 4 in Fort McMurray are eligible for this new program and bussing will be provided throughout the city.
