Fort McMurray Catholic School requires a Special Education Teacher for Camp “Kids First” summer day camp for children with Autism and other special needs.
(week 1 – ages 5-8 yrs old – week 2 ages 9-16 yrs old – week 3 ages 10 and up for Asperger’s and related) – max of 10 campers per week
Program Director will be responsible for Program development, design and implementation of the camp activities in the following areas:
- Recreation/outdoor activities in a primarily one to one setting and developing visual supports for daily camp activities
- The Program Director must be available to work from 8:30am – 3:30pm; the camp participants attend from 9am – 3pm, Monday – Friday.
- The Program Director will provide a schedule prior to camp, meet with parents, organize daily activities, support camp staff and volunteers in the implementation of the camp schedule; work directly with campers and be comfortable intervening and preventing behaviors. The director will be responsible for morning and afternoon set up, cleanup and purchasing and creating all materials (assistant is available to help)
To be eligible for this position the applicant must have:
- Course knowledge and experience with children with Autism as well as other disabilities.
- Must have experience supervising staff
- Must have experience in a children’s summer camp program or knowledge and experience in special education programs in a school setting.
- 4 year teaching degree with course work in special education, preferred.

Fort McMurray Catholic Schools requires full-time Classroom Support/Resource Room Teacher(s) for 2012-13 school year.
The successful candidate(s) will have knowledge and training in special education and be able to support regular classroom teachers with specialized teaching strategies to help children with special needs. The successful candidate(s) will be able to coordinate with internal and external professionals to provide therapeutic programming for children within their school. This person will work collaboratively as a team with their administrators, teachers, staff, students and parents, in a leadership role. Experience in supporting Educational Assistants in their roles and responsibilities are a definite asset.
The successful applicant(s) must hold a Bachelor of Education Degree with course work in special education and have two-three years classroom teaching experience. They must be eligible for Alberta Teacher Certification. A Masters in Special Education or other related field is encouraged.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Fort McMurray Catholic Schools is seeking a dynamic individual to be the Lead Teacher for School based Performing Arts at Holy Trinity Catholic High School. The successful candidate will co-ordinate the numerous school performances, collaborate with colleagues and teach in the Performing Arts area. This position, although curricular in nature, will work in conjunction with the Manager of the Performing Arts Centre.
DUTIES:
- Event organization (liturgies, talent shows, productions, etc.)
- Holistic cross-curricular approach and management of events
- Extra curricular leadership and commitment
- Event debriefing
- Lead Teacher for Performing Arts specialist teachers
- Instructional knowledge of Stepping Out, LTTA
- Marketing of School and Arts Centre extra-curricular events
