When can I register my children to attend an Elementary Catholic School in Fort McMurray?
Registrations are accepted at any time either the current school year or next school year.
How do I register my children?
You can visit or contact any of our eight elementary Catholic schools or the Catholic Education Centre at 780-799-5700 (info@fmcschools.ca). You can also complete and submit the Registration Form to the Catholic Education Centre. We also have a on-line registration form than can be completed on the Internet. Once we receive the registration form, we will contact you to confirm receipt and let you know if we need any additional information. The registration form is available in the attachment section of the Elementary School Registration page.
What elementary school do I need to attend?
You do not have to attend any particular school. However, each of our eight elementary schools have a designated attendance area set by the Board In accordance with section 45 (2) of the Alberta School Act.
Student transportation services are only provided to designated schools. Choice students (those not attending their designated schools) must make their own transportation arrangements to attend their school of choice. The School Principal has the authority to refuse students from outside their designated area if they do not have available space or resources available.

How much does it cost to have my children attend a Catholic Elementary School in Fort McMurray
There are no tuition costs as Catholic Education in the Province of Alberta are part of the Public Education System and are fully funded by the Department of Education. However, supplies and material fees and student transporation fees (if applicable) apply.

What are the school hours?
Each school has different school hours. Some have eary start time while others have later start time to accommodate the transportation schedule. Please visit the individual school web page to find out about their schedule.
Where can I find the District School Calendar?
The District Calendar is entered in the calendar section on District Web Site.
Do you have to be Catholic to register in an Elementary Catholic School?
Fort McMurray Catholic Schools welcome members of other faith communities in their schools and respect their beliefs. However, this shall not reduce the freedom of Catholic Schools to openly study, practice and celebrate their own Catholic Faith.
Parents of students that are not Catholic will be required to meet the Principal of their school at the start of the school year to discuss these expectations.
